NEPSE posts 10.79 points fall

Kathmandu: The capital market index NEPSE recorded a double digits fall of 10.79 to close at 1,218.98 points on Sunday.

sub-indices of all groups recorded declining trend in Sunday's transaction. Sub-indices of banking, development bank, hydropower, life insurance and non-life insurance made the major contribution for the increment of overall NEPSE index in today's transaction.

In line with the decline in the index, the volume of transaction in the sole capital  market also recorded significant fall in today's transactions.

The stock exchange traded 1,272,108 unit shares of 166 companies worth  Rs. 327,025,741 in 4,487 transaction on Sunday.

sub-indices of non-life insurance group recorded the highest points fall of 85.94 points, followed by life insurance, microfinance and development  bank and hydropower, which indices declined by  67.432 points, 24.93 points and  15. 32 points respectively.

similarly, sub-indices of hydropower, others, banking, manufacturing, hotels and finance group declined by 14.43 points, 8.08 points, 7.16 points, 6.81 points,   4.23 points and 2.03 points respectively.
