Qatari Princess Al Thani successfully scales Mt. Denali

Kathmandu: Qatari Princess Sheikh Asma Al Thani has successfully climbed the North America highest peak Mount Denali.

According to Mingma David Sherpa (Guinness World Record holder, Mountaineer), Al Thani reached Mt.Denali Wednesday morning 1.40 Am USA time, May 15. She set foot on the Denali expedition led by Nirmal Purja, the veteran Nepalese mountaineer and Mingma David Sherpa (Guinness World Record holder, Mountaineer).

Al Thani has previously scaled Mt.Everest, Mt. Kanchenjunga (8,586m), Mt. Ama Dalam (6,812m), Dhaulagiri (8,167m) and without the use of suplemental oxygen climbed Manaslu (8,163m) successfully. Al Thani aims to inspire women and young people in the region to challenge stereotypes and fulfill their dreams.
Sheikha Asma is on her way to become the first Qatari woman to complete the Explorers 'Grand Slam'. So, Thani aims to climb all the seven Summits (Everest, Aconcagua, Denali, Kilimanjaro, Vinson, Puncak Jaya and Mount Elbrus) and to accomplish both North and South Poles.

Princess Al Thani has already completed three of the nine Explorers Grand Slam challenges.  Sheikha Asma has previously became the first Qatari to ski the last degree to the North Pole in 2018 and scaled Aconcagua in 2019.
