1,111 more individuals test positive for COVID-19, 377 in KTM Valley

Kathmandu: Coronavirus has been confirmed on 1,111 more individuals in last 24 hours in the country. Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population, Dr Jageshwor Gautam said that the new cases of coronavirus has been confirmed on 334 women and 777 men while carrying out 12,629 PCR test at different labs.    
With this, number of coronavirus infected people has reached 35,529. Similarly, out of 1,111 coronavirus cases, 377 cases have been confirmed in Kathmandu Valley.    
According to the Ministry, 270 are from Kathmandu, 66 from Lalitpur and 41 from Bhaktapur. Five hundred sixty-nine people have been recovered from coronavirus infection in last 24 hours. With this, the number of people discharged after recovery has reached 20,073 so far. A total of 151 coronavirus infected people are receiving treatment in ICU and 14 in ventilator.    
Likewise, eight more coronavirus infected people—five women and three men died in last 24 hours. A 65-year-old woman of Lalitpur, 23-year-old and 32-year-old women of Bara, 70-year-old woman of Banke, 70-year-old woman of Rupandehi died of coronavirus as well as 48-year-old man of Kathmandu, 62-year-old man of Parsa and 50-year-old man of Kapilvastu lost their lives from COVID-19 infection.    
With this, the number of people losing their lives to coronavirus has reached 183 so far. According to Gautam, the mortality rate from coronavirus is 0.52 per cent in Nepal.
