Fake Bhutanese refugee scam: Secretary Pandey held,  Arrest warrant issued against UML leader, his son

Kathmandu: The police have arrested Tek Narayan Pandey, secretary at the Office of Vice President, on charge of involvement in a racket of sending people to the United States identifying them as Bhutanese refugees.    
A team from the District Police Range, Kathmandu held him from Pepsikola today, said Deputy Inspector General of Police, Kuber Kadayat, spokesperson for the Nepal Police. "Pandey has been kept in the police range, and investigations are underway," he said.    
Before being transferred, Pandey worked at the Ministry of Home Affairs. He is reported to have been involved in the illegal act when he was posted at the Ministry.    


Likewise, Arrest warrant has been issued against CPN UML Secretary Top Bahadur Rayamajhi and his son Sandeep.    
    
The District Police Range, Kathmandu, has received the arrest warrant against them from the District Court Kathmandu today, according to Kathmandu Valley Police Office.    
    
The arrest warrant was issued against them on the charge of their involvement in sending Nepalis to the USA in the guise of Bhutanese refugees.
