NEPSE shows positive index after Dashain with 655 point growth

Kathmandu: After four days of continuous decline in the Nepal Stock Exchange NEPSE) index, it made a positive growth on the last trading day of the week Thursday.

The NEPSE index made positive growth of 6.55 points to close at 1,794.44 points today.

The sub-indices of commercial banks, development banks, hydropower, insurance and other groups blinked to a green signal while the sub-indices of hotel, finance and manufacturing groups showed negative record.

The sub-indices of insurance groups increased significantly by 127.75 points to close at 9287.22 points. The sub-indices of insurance groups decreased by 57.13 points on Wednesday.

Similarly, the sub-indices of hydropower, development banks, commercial banks and other groups increased by 23.48 points, 5.89 points, 3.57 points and 1.44points to stand at 2375.88 points, 1834.14 points, 1703.98 points and 774.51 points, respectively.

However, the sub-indices of hotel, finance and manufacturing groups decreased by 42.96 points, 4.25 points and 7.09 points to close at 2,347.66 points, 820.5 points and 2308.83 points, respectively.

The turnover of NEPSE increased Thursday compared to Wednesday.

NEPSE registered transaction with 126 companies making the turnover of Rs.703 million with a total of 787,353 shares through 3,789 transactions.

The sensitive index, which measure of group "A companies" also increased by 1.42 points to close at 3897.23 points on Thursday.
