Kathmandu: A bailey bridge has been installed over the Sunkoshi River linking Sindhuli and Ramechhap districts.
Earlier, the 51-metre long bridge of Ramechhap side was swept away by rain-induced flood on September 28 this year.
Amid a programme here today, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Devendra Dahal honoured a team of technicians and Nepali Army (NA) personnel for swift restoration of the bridge over the river.
After inspecting roads under the BP Highway in Sindhuli and Ramechhap districts, Minister Dahal expressed gratitude to all sides concerned for their crucial efforts for rapidly installing the bridge and repairing the disaster-ravaged roads to restore stalled traffic movements.
According to the NA, vehicular movement has resumed on the road through the bridge from today following the installation of the Bailey bridge.
Arrangement has been made for facilitating passenger vehicles following load capacity tests on the vehicles plying the Bailey bridge, it was shared.
Minister Dahal was accompanied by Director General of the Department of Roads, Ramhari Pokharel and State-Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Purna Bahadur Tamang along with local leaders and government officials. ----
