Irrational way of doing business by Star India

Kathmandu: Recently published in news that Star Channels got disconnected due to nonpayment to broadcaster by Dish Home. But few important information was missing in that article, they did not mention that without government approval not a single rupee can’t be sent to India or outside country, and the approval from NRB for sending payment to Star India came on mangshir 28th and Dishhome requested Star India to allow 2 weeks’ time to transfer money.

But Star India still disconnected the service despite of knowing that govt approval came two days before. Moreover it is said in news that the money was due from 3 months but they did not published the names of other customers of Star India who have paid the money for said months, this is to be noted that star India has nearly 12+ customers in Nepal and not a single one has cleared the dues, In fact some of customers have not even applied for approvals to send money but Star India only disconnected DishHome because Dish Home is big name.

Although they have disconnected some small operators in past also but they showing star channel illegally and Star India could not stop them. Star India is doing unfair business either it’s basis outstanding of customer wise or it’s about charging subscription money basis size of business. To big company they charge big money wherein to certain clients they charging negligible amount.

That is also one of the reasons Dishhome facing challenge in maintaining the relation with Star India. Their content are coming free on YouTube and still they charge huge money from Dishhome, earlier the total Nepal market was of 25 lacs digital connection which has come down to 15 lacs subscribers but they keep asking year on year growth in their business.
