Kristin from Norway set a new record by climbing six peaks in 29 days

Kathmandu: Kristin Harila, 36, of Norway, who is on a mission to ascent 14 peaks above 8,000m within 6 months, climbed Mt. Makalu (8,485m) with two sherpa mountain guides on today morning.


Norwegian woman Harila and mountain guide Pasdawa Sherpa and Dawa Ongju Sherpa have set a new record for fastest scaled of Six peaks 8,000m.
According to the  Pemba Sherpa, managing director at 8K Expedition, Norwegian professional athlete Kristin, along with two mountain guides sherpa climbed fifth highest peak Mt.Makalu at 9:50 am today.
 
Three climbers have summitted six peaks 8,000m in just 29 days, said Pemba Sherpa. On May 22, Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Kanchenjunga on 14 May, Mt. Dhaulagiri on 8 May, Mt. Annapurna I on 28 May completing five mountains above 8,000m in just 24 days, Sherpa added.


"Three climbers has also broken one of the records of fastest climb by Nirmal Purja (Nims Dai) who climbed five peaks above 8000m in 29 days," Sherpa said.  "They have successed to made six peaks in 29 days," Sherpa added.
8K Expedition director said, in May 2021,  Harila set a world record becoming the fastest woman to ascent Mt. Everest and Mt. Lhotse in less than twelve hours. He added, and in this Spring season, she broke her own record by summitting Mt. Everest and Mt. Lhotse in just 9 hours.
