Guideline related to health safety protocol of tourism sector made public

Kathmandu: A guideline related to health safety protocol has been made public with the aim of making tourism services healthy, fair and standard post Covid-19 pandemic.    
Prepared by the Tourism Recovery Taskforce Nepal (TRTF-Nepal) with technical help of German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and in cooperation of Gates Foundation, the guideline was launched jointly by Dr Stephen Rozek, chief of development assistance department, German Embassy in Nepal and the Taskforce's coordinator and former chief executive officer of the Nepal Tourism Board, Dipak Raj Joshi, at a virtual programme here today.    
On the occasion, stating that ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has created economic crisis and affected tourism not only health, Dr Rozek said that this guideline would play an effective role in the revival of affected tourism sector.    
Similarly, coordinator Joshi said that 85 percent small and medium entrepreneurs stressed the need for training, education and awareness programmes for themselves according to a survey carried out among tourism entrepreneurs and stakeholders of Nepal following Covid-19 impacts on tourism sector. In the first phase, preparations were afoot to launch a training session related to health security protocol as per the survey, he said.
